Last night Sam was set apart by our Stake President. President Cook will be his temporary mission president while he is attending the online Missionary Training Center from home. He will be flying to his reassigned location (Raleigh, NC) on Sept 30th and will serve there until he can get a visa for Jamaica. Sam is now an official missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for the next 2 years. So proud of you Elder West!!!
Sam will be entering the Missionary Training Center for 3 weeks on Sept 23rd. We had a farewell party for him on the Friday before. As a result of COVID-19, we had a "social distancing" party with Sam outside to interact with guests. On Sept 17th, Sam found out where he was going to be reassigned while waiting for borders to open and to get his Visa for Jamaica. Sam has been reassigned to the North Carolina Raleigh mission. He is excited to go somewhere warm. His mission is within the blue boundary lines.
