Weekly Email - 28 December 2020

 Hey Everyone! Merry Christmas!

Got two weeks wrapped up into one this time! It was fun, our mission president moved our P-day to Christmas so we didn't have to try and find things we could do on Christmas. We still got to go shopping but it actually felt pretty cool being busy for almost 2 weeks straight. So last week we worked on a music video for our Facebook page. I wasn't in it but I helped out with making it! It was actually really fun and I enjoy the filming and editing more. We also had exchanges and another Elder who actually flew in with me were companions in my area for a day! It felt so weird being in charge of a whole area. At first I was a little overwhelmed but I got used to it pretty quick. We got along well and talked a lot about random things so that was fun.

Last Monday we treated like a normal day except we went shopping for an hour in the afternoon. We had some lessons and started to get our living room ready to be painted. We just have part of our kitchen and our living room then we are done! It is going to be so much fun when we don't live in a construction zone anymore.

This week was pretty chill. A few of the people we are teaching had family over or left for Christmas so we couldn't teach them. We had a whole lot of members lessons thought! We are in an awesome area with great members.

On Sunday we were going to visit some new members for one of there birthdays. We were super excited but we didn't see them at church. After church we texted them to see what was up. There whole family was sick and they were thinking they had Covid. They lost there smell and it just wasn't good. We tryed to have a lesson with them over zoom but there kid and dog were going crazy and one of them started to throw up. It was a crazy end to our Sunday.

I've been having a lot of fun. I have been learning and growing so much. I know I am doing the right thing, but sometimes it is still hard. The lord knows what I need and will help me out when I need it.

I love you all and hope you have a Happy New Year!

Christmas - 25 December 2020

Sam and his companion, Elder Stone, were able to celebrate Christmas at a local member's house and have dinner. We were able to also Skype with Sam. It was one of the best Christmas presents ever! Sam received a Lego version of himself as a missionary, funny!

Weekly Email - 14 December 2020

Hey everyone! How have you guys been doing? This week was pretty cool. We had lots of fun and lessons.

Starting on Wednesday, we had a mission tour with Elder Aidukaitis, a member of the seventy. It was really cool and I learned a lot. We had 3 hour long zoom calls with him over 3 days.

We were able to have lessons with all of our progressing people this week so that was super awesome! We also got a new person referral from some other missionaries so that is super awesome! We have also been having lots of member lessons and they are so much fun!

We are getting pretty far on our house! We have almost everything sanded and are starting to vacuum everything and paint. We have 2 rooms out of 8 done so far. It is still a lot of work but we should be done before Christmas. It will make things easier when it is done.

As a zone we are trying to have 500 member lessons in the month of December. Me and my companion have 34 so far. When we counted it out, each companionship in the zone needs to have around 45 lessons so we are doing pretty good. It has been really fun and the lord has helped us find small chances to have member lessons.

I am really excited to start decorating for Christmas. With the work on the house I haven't been able to put up any lights or decorations. We do have a mini Christmas tree which is pretty fun. I hope you all have a great time getting ready for Christmas.

I love you all and and your awesome!

Mission Zoom Tour - 9 December 2020

This week Sam had a mission zoom tour with Elder Aidukaitis. All 260 missionaries from the Raliegh NC mission were able to listen and learn from a General Authority Seventy and member of our Area Presidency. Not sure, but I think they were extremely excited with having another zoom meeting.

Weekly Email - 7 December 2020

Hey everyone, I finally got a weekly email going! It only took me like, 2 months.

So how's everyone doing? I've been doing pretty good. This week has been cool. Wednesday we had a bunch of lessons. Thursday, we had a service project. We helped rake leaves and pine needles for a member in our ward. She has a big yard so it took us a while to get it done. Friday we worked on making a Facebook post that should be posted tomorrow on our Facebook page. Tomorrows light the world activity is to decorate someone's door with Christmas greetings. We had some foam at our house so we cut out some snowflakes and letters and decorated a less active sister door. It was pretty fun. Hopefully that will be posted tomorrow on https://www.facebook.com/ComeUntoChristinSouthCentralNC/. Go like it and like the page! On Saturday we tried to help some people who are moving into our area. It didn't work out the best because they weren't very organized but we helped the best we could.

Sunday we had a very full day. We had ward council which starts at 7:30 at our church building. Our building is 30 minutes away from our house and we get up at 6:30. We had ward council then church. After church we had a bunch of lessons till dinner. After dinner we helped out with a temple prep class, then watched the First Presidency Christmas devotional. So we were going from 7:00am till 9:00pm that day. We didn't even have time to study that morning. Busy days like that are fun every once and a while. If every day was like that, that would be crazy.

This week has been really fun, and I have kept learning. I planned out the Facebook post, found the supplies, and got the pictures. It was a lot of responsible for me but it was still fun. I am learning and growing everyday. We are still getting ready for Christmas and trying to tell everyone about light the world. It is a lot of work but it's also been fun.

Thinking about before my mission, I really don't know what I thought it would be like. I knew it would be hard, I knew there would be awesome experiences but I didn't really know how it would all come together. It really is an experience and gets you ready for life.

Love you all and hope you can continue to get ready for Christmas!
